Whether you choose the intimacy of the dining room or the fresh air of the terrace at the foot of the slopes, Le Refuge will wow you with its raclettes, fondue and other Alpine specialties. The menu simmers with six fondue recipes, including pots of aged Cheddar cheese flavoured with beer and nutmeg, Fontina cheese from Valle d’Aosta and melted chocolate served with fresh fruits and Madeleines.
With the relaxed attitude of an elegant brasserie, Les Airelles serves authentic French cuisine including classics such as Foie Gras, Salade de Langoustines, Gigot d’Agneaux, Coeur de Filet and Chateau Briand. Although sumptuous décor, a superb menu and Russian-style service usually mean “expensive”, Les Airelles offers fine dining experiences at surprisingly reasonable prices.
You’ll want to come hungry to Gaucho’s Pub & Grill, where hearty Mexican, Argentinian and Brazilian fare take centre stage. Churrascos (giant skewers of roasted meat), Coxinhas (chicken drumsticks) and Salsichas Longaniza (veal sausages with herbs) are among the Brazilian offerings, while Argentinian Bife de Lomo (beef tenderloin) and Bife de Chorizo (ribeye steak) are prepared a la plancha. Multilevel seating and a central bar are friendly touches that make you feel part of the scene.
The aroma of authentic Italian cooking will lead you to La Tavola, an open-kitchen-style restaurant with seating indoors and on the outdoor terrace. Antipasti Tavola, fresh homemade pastas, pizzas baked in a wood-fire oven and other traditional favourites are served in the distinctly “rustico” setting. Picture-postcard views of the mountains fill the impressive glass wall overlooking the terrace.
Only if you grew your own could you dine on fresher foods than those served in Al Hor tent. Each day, the chef purchases organic produce from local Kfardebiane farmers, dairy products from nearby Bedouins and homemade ingredients such as rose water, carob and arak from neighbouring villages. Served outdoors, the resulting menu features mountain specialties such as mezzeh (appetisers) and tabbouleh salad, prepared to taste at your table
Nowhere else in Lebanon can you feast on “chocolate cuisine”, the specialty of the house in Galler Chocolat—Thé Salon. Incorporating the official chocolate of the Royal Belgian Court, the eat-in or takeout restaurant serves hot chocolate, an exquisite variety of pralines, sandwiches and salads seasoned with chocolate and cacao beans and more than 30 types of tea.
