The Palms Brasserie opens early with a lavish breakfast buffet brimming with international and local specialties. All’s quiet mid-day, but the doors reopen for dinner with another spectacular spread featuring a different culinary theme each night.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just feel like a nice evening out, Al Dente is an excellent choice. Traditional Italian décor takes you back to the old country, and the menu of classics such as Veal Piccata, Veal Chops and Lasagna al Forno exceeds all expectations. During warm months, a terrace overlooking the pool and gardens is set with candlelit tables for dining alfresco.
The Fish Market & Oriental Café brings the flavours of the sea ashore for casual lunches and dinners overlooking the marina. Fresh catches from the Red Sea are used to make dishes such as Egyptian Seafood Soup, Samaka Harra Beirutia and Mezzeh Selection Mixed Grill, served with your choice of imported and local wines. Oriental specialties are also served indoors or out, where the chef cooks on an outdoor grill and makes Egyptian bread in an outdoor oven.
Wouldn’t it be nice to schedule your day according to the movement of the sun rather than a clock? That’s the kind of laid-back attitude you’ll find in La Terrace Pool Bar and Restaurant, whose closing time is listed as “sunset”. The menu is just as casual, with Caesar, Greek and Niçoise salads, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, pastas, fried shrimp and calamari among the favourites. All the tables are poolside, and there’s a swim-up bar for the ultimate cool-down.
Al Buhayra serves the same casual menu of salads, burgers, hot dogs, five varieties of pizza and pasta found in La Terrace Pool Restaurant, but this time you’ll munch on lunch and snacks with nothing but the beach between you and the Red Sea. The chef also gets lots of requests for Chicken Shawerma and Grilled Shrimp, and refreshing cocktails and other drinks are available from the bar.
The Captain’s Bar will bring out the seafarer in you with its nautical-inspired décor and breezy lounge atmosphere. Light fare, ice cream and classic cocktails such as Frozen Margaritas and Piña Coladas appear from behind the bar, and the shisha flavours include apple, mint, apricot, peach, mango, strawberry, banana, orange, sweet melon and the flavourless Zaghloul. Every day, a live band and folklore show, belly dancer, Tanoura dancer or Nubian show give you glimpses of local culture and colour.
