MORNING

Wellington is a peaceful, green and beautiful town, so enjoy it with a morning jog along the picturesque waterfront along Oriental Parade. Having worked up an appetite, enjoy breakfast in Chameleon Restaurant with delicious buffet or continental options. Then, get a feel of where you are by taking the nearby Cable Car and discover a great 180 degree view over the city. The sight is prettier than any of the picture postcards. Explore the Cable Car Museum or take a short stroll to the Botanic Gardens, a magical garden popular with locals and tourists alike. Enjoy the slow ride back down on the Cable Car and then call into one of the many cafes at the bottom for a refreshing drink. There are actually more cafes and restaurants per population in Wellington than there are in New York, so you are spoiled for choice.

AFTERNOON

Visit New Zealand's national museum Te Papa Tongarewa and see a splendid display of New Zealand's history. Take your time here to discover this country's secrets and then enjoy lunch at the museum's cafe. Wellington is small enough for you to explore in detail - walk along Cuba Street, Mall, Willis St and Lambton Quay to take in the town's shopping districts. Wellington's residents are friendly and laid back, so feel free to ask people if you get lost or just have a question. Late in the afternoon, take a leisurely walk to ZEALANDIA Wildlife Sanctuary, just 20 minutes from the Hotel. The scenery is beautiful, like being in a secluded forest. And if you take the dusk tour, you might even see a real kiwi.

EVENING

As Wellington is a hilly place, the city has many wonderful vantage points from which to view the town. At night, when the sun sets in the hills, see the handsome scenery from the White House restaurant in Oriental Parade. With the delicate lighting of our beautiful sea town before your eyes, try the delicious duck for something a little bit different. After dinner, head to Courtney Place, which is alive with hip bars. Check out the Establishment Bar, a great place to let your hair down. Even in the midst of drinking, New Zealanders remain the most affable people who are easy to befriend, so don't count on your evening ending where it began.
