MORNING

To make the most of your day, we recommend starting early having a delicious traditional Mexican breakfast at La Chimenea. Then head to the Anthropology Museum, walking distance from the Hotel, to get a better understanding of Mexican pre-Hispanic culture. You must not miss the Aztec, Mayan, and Toltec wings; as well as some of the most impressive pieces like the Aztec Calendar and the statue of Tlaloc. Hop on the tourbus for your next stop, Chapultepec Castle. Aside from admiring its elegant architecture, you cannot leave without taking a picture of the magnificent view from this building nestled at the top a hill. Head next to La Condesa, a very chic neighborhood with outdoor cafés and colorful parks where you can enjoy one of the many atmospheres our city has to offer.

AFTERNOON

Head next to the Historic Center, with a pit stop at the Angel of Independence square. Few people know that our city is actually sinking! Every 10 years a new one foot high step is added. You have several options for a truly memorable lunch, El Mayor (with a terrace overlooking the Templo Mayor Aztec ruins), El Majestic (overseeing the city's main square, the Zocalo, and the National Palace), or the Casa de Las Sirenas (where you can see the architecture of the Cathedral). Then stroll around the corners of the Historic Center, we recommend walking about Madero, Tacuba, and 5 de Mayo avenues. Here you will appreciate the different construction styles that are part of our almost 700 years as a city.

EVENING

Now I will send you off to Mexico's principal opera house, the Palace of Fine Arts. It's an architectural masterpiece, both inside and out. The interiors are a beautiful blend of art deco and art nouveau styles. The construction began in 1910, but was interrupted soon after by the revolution, and was finally completed 34 years later. It houses impressive murals and temporary exhibits. Finish the day with a performance by Amalia Hernandez's folklore ballet - one of the most famous ballets in the world - and you will be happy with your stay in our wonderful city.
