Whether you are new to Baltimore or are a returning guest, you will always feel welcome in Charm City. We've been welcoming people from all over the world since the 1600s. Start your day with a trip to the Inner Harbor and get on one of Baltimore's famous water taxis (the best way to travel) and tour the port. Step off at Fells Point and walk along the Belgian block streets; a now-famed setting for a night on the town. Then go back in time when you visit Fell's Point's popular Thames Street and Broadway Market. Fort McHenry, an old brick fort which is the birthplace of our national anthem, is another place to visit while on the water taxi.
In the afternoon, Mount Vernon is the place to check out various museums and galleries. There is so much history in this area and a wealth of things to do, including the Washington Monument in the center of it all. Stroll through the Walters Art Gallery, browse the Peabody Library and tour the palatial and stately homes that line the Washington Monument, the first monument in the US dedicated to George Washington. Also, Be sure to spend some time strolling the Inner Harbor, Baltimore's center of tourism, home to fabulous shopping, restaurants and the National Aquarium.
When the sun begins to set and your mind turns to the evening ahead, catch a taxi to the Charles Theater and watch one of the many interesting independent films: you can usually find something to your taste, and a bit original flavor. Afterwards, you can have some tapas in the cafe just next door. If in Fells Point, dine on the fabulous seafood - crab cakes of course - and catch some live jazz or blues in the local bars along Thames Street or end your day with supper at one of Harbor East's many fine-dining establishments. There are so many neighborhoods to explore and so many things to do. Contact the Concierge, who is available to help you tailor your own authentic Baltimore experience.
