DIRECTIONS TO INTERCONTINENTAL MIAMI DOWNTOWN

Directions To The InterContinental Miami Hotel:----- From Miami International Airport: Take 836 East to I-95 South to Biscayne Boulevard (Exit 2A). Take the ramp down through two red lights. Turn left at the stop sign (get in the far right lane). Turn right at first red light (one half-block). The InterContinental Miami is on your right.--------------- From Kendall, Homestead, or Key West: Take U.S. 1 North to I-95. Exit at Biscayne Boulevard (Exit 2A). Take the ramp down through two red lights. Turn left at the stop sign (get in the far right lane). Turn right at first red light (one half-block). The InterContinental Miami is on your right. -------------From Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, or Pompano: Take I-95 South to Biscayne Boulevard (Exit 2A). Take the ramp down through two red lights. DRIVING YOURSELF AROUND TOWN

There are many one-way streets in downtown Miami. A GPS is highly recommended. You are now able to pay by phone at any of the City of Miami traffic meters by simply registering your vehicle tag and payment information via the internet or using your smart phone. Interstate I-95 in Miami-Dade County has opened dedicated Express Lanes to take travelers in and out of Downtown Miami faster through traffic. The toll rate varies depending on traffic congestion and is posted prior to being able to access the Express Lanes. Tolls are charged through via the vehicles license plate. Check with your rental car provider for more information.

FORT LAUDERDALE AIRPORT TO INTERCONTINENTAL MIAMI

Airport Express 1-800-2448252 is the best option. It is $21per person one-way. They have kiosks outside the baggage claims and you do not need a reservation from the airport to the hotel. However, you do need to make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance for the trip back to Fort Lauderdale Airport from InterContinental downtown. This trip which provides private sedans is $70 each way. A taxi from FLL to our hotel is about $70. World-wide limo transportation is our preferred transportation vendor and we can make arrangements for you through a request on the concierge website.

MIAMI AIRPORT TRANPORTATION TO INTERCONTINENTAL

Miami International Airport to the InterContinental Miami in Downtown Miami has several methods of transportation. 1. Taxi (20 minutes under normal traffic conditions, about $25) 2. Airport Shuttle: Super Shuttle (305) 871-2000. A reservation only needs to be made for the ride back to the airport from the hotel 24 hours ahead of time. The fee is $15 per person one-way and the kiosks are located ouside the Baggage Claim. From MIA to the hotel they only accept walk-ups, no reservation needed. 3. Sedan service through Carey transportation company (please contact concierge for transportation requests). 4. Private van for a group (Please contact concierge for prices and availability).

Clothing

We are a tropical destination so beware of the high temperatures! Our summer and autumn months bring us the most hot and humid days, while the winter and spring months gives us gorgeous weather - chilly at times but manageable with a light sweater. Bring proper clothing and good sun care products!

Currency

You can exchange currency at the airport or most of the local hotels. When shopping in Downtown Miami bring cash, it is an excellent negotiating tool!

Documentation

Carry your passport and visa at all times because photo ID is required for all identification purposes. A driver's license and a credit card is required for car rental.
