Long Bien Bridge
Long Bien bridge has designed by French architect Gustave Eiffel who designed Eiffel Tower, France icon as well. It was completed in 1903 and is the famous bridge in Hanoi's people memory. Long Bien bridge has went through 2 wars and bombs but still standing until today. Long Bien bridge is not open for car so you can walk along this bridge in the morning to see the sunrise or sunset in the evening.
Hoa Lo Prison
Hoa Lo Prison has known as "Hanoi Hilton" by American and was built by the French in 1896. It had used as a house Vietnamese political prisoners. John McCain was a prisoner here for six years after his plane crashed in Truc Back lake.
Le Mat Snake Village
About 7 km Northest of Hanoi off Highway 1A, there is a place you can take a shot of rice wine with a still beating heart inside. Prepared 7 traditonal dishes, none of the parts will go to waste. Just enjoy you food and relax, don't look at them cooking.

Bring you mobile phone if you plan on staying for a few weeks or more.
Dress Code
Casual wear is acceptable in most restaurants however we would like to recommend to check when making a table reservation.
The weather
Hanoi winter time is pretty cold (specially Januarry and February), so be sure to bring a warm coat, sweater or a warm pullover. Temperatures range from 8 - 15 degree. In the summer, it is hot and humidm the temperatures range from 27 -37 degree (specially June and July) , so remember to bring sun cream to protect your skin.
Shoes
Remember to pack comfortable walking shoes if you want to discover Old Quarter with 36 old street in Hanoi.
