Atlanta may have world-class museums, restaurants and hospitality, but this part of the Southeast also has a world-class pollen count. If you have allergies that kick up at the slightest breeze, bring your medication.
DRIVING
Atlanta traffic can be brutal during peak rush-hour times. The congestion can test your patience so keep a cool head as some motorists can tend to be a little aggressive at times.
SOUTHERN DIALECT
Verbiage such as 'ya'll,' 'fixin,' and 'reckon' can oftentimes throw visitors off a bit- it's part of the charm so soak it in and enjoy the Southern hospitality!

Weather
Atlanta's climate is temperate but Spring and Fall are the best times to visit . The Summer months can be a bit steamy and the mercury may often drop below freezing point during the Winter.
CNN Studio Tour
The 160ft escalator at the beginning of the CNN Studio Tour is the longest freestanding escalator in the world.
Coca-Cola
Atlanta is the birthplace of Coca-Cola, invented in 1886 by Dr John S Pemberton.
Georgia Aquarium
Newly opened in 2006, this is the world's largest aquarium.
Peachtree
There are 32 streets in the city that contain the word 'Peachtree.'
Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain Park is home to the world's largest piece of exposed granite.
Camera
With so many things to do and see, a camera is a must. From the penguins at the Aquarium to the fountains at Centennial Olympic Park, there's a potential photo opportunity around every corner.
Currency
Change some money - enough to cover airport incidentals and transportation to the hotel - before you leave home, so you can avoid the queues at the airport ATMs. There is an American Express Travel Office three blocks north of the InterContinental.
