The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organisation committed to saving lives and easing suffering. This diverse organisation serves humanity and helps you by providing relief to victims of disaster, both locally and globally. The Red Cross is responsible for half of the nation's blood supply and blood products, gives health and safety training to the public and provides emergency social services to U.S. military members and their families. In the wake of an earthquake, tornado, flood, fire, hurricane or other disaster, the Red Cross provides relief services to communities across the country. Mercy Relief – Rebuilding Lives and Communities affected by tsunami and volcanic eruptions in Indonesia.

More than 350,000 people have sought shelter from the Mentawai tsunami and the devastation caused by Mount Merapi’s volcanic blasts. Hundreds of thousands have lost their homes, livelihoods and loved ones since the twin disasters in October 2010. IHG offers Priority Club members the opportunity to donate points to Mercy Relief. Rebuilding their lives will be a slow and painstaking process, your kindness and generosity will go a long way for these unfortunate people.

Mercy Relief is an independent non-governmental humanitarian charity, established in response to the human tragedies in Asia. Its aid programmes include providing timely and effective assistance to disaster-stricken locations; and longer-term developmental projects to uplift the lives of impoverished and disadvantaged communities, focusing on water & sanitation, shelter, healthcare, basic education and sustainable livelihoods.

Project Hope

Project Hope is a public welfare undertaking, initiated and organized by the China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF), to assist dropout students and those at risk of dropping out to continue schooling in China's rural, poverty-stricken areas. In addition to funding these students' studies and building schools, the CYDF has also sought to improve the educational conditions in these rural areas (including teacher training) and strengthen the government's efforts in implementing a nine-year compulsory education law.
