Local Insider
Must See:
Take a stroll through historic Ft. Myers, where you can enjoy a picnic in Centennial Park along the Caloosahatchee River, just a short walk from our boutique hotel. Downtown Ft. Myers is also home to the historic Georgian-style Burroughs Mansion.
Must Do:
Visit the lovely Edison-Ford Winter Estates, situated less than a mile from our Ft. Myers accommodations. Take a walking tour of this popular historical site, which includes the homes, laboratory and botanical gardens of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
What's New:
Every year, the Southwest Florida Museum of History hosts an exciting new traveling exhibit, which has ranged from King Tut to the Paleo Florida exhibit. This wonderful museum also has many permanent exhibits and offers fun downtown walking tours.
Don't Go Home Without:
No trip to Ft. Myers is complete without a trip to picturesque Sanibel Island, where you can rent a bike and tour the pristine Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, discover unique shells at Matthew's Shell Museum and see the historic Sanibel Lighthouse.
Tips:
With a pleasant climate year-round, Fort Myers is a wonderful city to visit any time of year, but summers are ideal for going to the many Gulf Coast beaches near our hotel. Fort Myers' mild winters make Oct-Mar the best time to see endangered Manatees.
