The hotel is centrally located in Citrus County between Inverness to the east and Homosassa Springs, Crystal River and the Gulf of Mexico to the west. Directly across from the hotel is the 157,000 acre Withlacoochee State Forest offering an array of outdoor activities from off-road motorcycling to hunting, hiking and fishing. The Withlacoochee State Trail is a 46-mile long paved rails to trails bicycle path, the longest in the state. At Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park, 15 minutes SW of the hotel, visitors can see bears, otters, cougars, bobcats and of course, the manatees hovering about the spring-fed waters. The town of Crystal River, 10 miles to the west, offers several manatee tours about its abundant springs and also features old-Florida’s scenic waterfront restaurants like Charlie’s Fish House and Peck’s Old Port Cove.
