Watch the sun set over the Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab hotel from the sleek Vista Restaurant, situated on the fifth floor above Holiday Inn Express Dubai Internet City. Dine from the a la carte menu, and sample cocktails and shisha on the two terraces.
Must Do:
Take the short trip from Holiday Inn Express Dubai Internet City to catch some rays at Jumeirah Beach. The beach is close to Wild Wadi Water Park, where you can ride the Master Blaster water rollercoaster and bodyboard in the Wipeout wave pool.
What's New:
There are some big new developments in downtown Dubai, like the gigantic Dubai Mall. Head to the world's largest shopping complex to browse over 1,000 stores, visit the enormous aquarium and skate on an Olympic-sized ice rink.
Don't Go Home Without:
Seeing traditional Dubai with a visit to the historic Bur Dubai area in the city centre. Take a walk past shuttered Arabian houses topped with wind towers designed to catch the sea breeze, and hail a wooden boat to glide along Dubai Creek at sunset.
Tips:
The new Dubai Metro Red Line opened in 2009, running along the length of Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Airport. Take it for easy transportation from the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Internet City to Mall of the Emirates and the World Trade Centre.
