The Banting House, one km from our London, Ontario accommodations, is the site of Sir Fredrick G. Banting's breakthrough discovery of insulin. This historic home serves as a museum and displays Banting's work as well as his 1923 Nobel Prize for medicine.
Must Do:
Just a short distance from the hotel, Fanshawne Pioneer Village is an early settlement on the shores of Lake Fanshawe. Restored to serve as a unique museum, the village features historic structures and demonstrates period tools, trades and customs.
What's New:
Victoria Park, right next door to our London, Ontario hotel, hosts programs and events throughout the year. It's the largest park in London, and it hosts several festivals in the summer and outdoor skating in the winter.
Don't Go Home Without:
Located one km from our London, Ontario accommodations, the Labatt Hometown Brewery has been internationally-acclaimed since the 1840's. Visitors can sample famous brews and take home free souvenirs, as well as see how the brews are made.
Tips:
Springtime in London is a great time to visit because of the beautiful, blooming gardens, but October is when the city displays its stunning fall colors. During the winter, visitors should pack layers as temperatures can dip below -1° Celsius (30°F).
