This restaurant dishes up the best Lowcountry food this side of Charleston. We moan over the fried buttermilk oysters garnished with arugula and dressed lightly in Green Goddess, and we can't stop ordering the duck hash wtih mustard 'cue sauce served wtih sunny-side-up eggs. (from Southern Living)
Devereaux's
Serves:
Dinner
Set in a turn-of-the-century factory, Devereaux's sets a romantic scene. The upscale establishment is a family affair, and the time-tested relationships add a certain ease to operations. Great atmosphere is an ideal complement to the excellent food, which includes pancetta-wrapped Atlantic halibut, bourbon brined pork loin, Asian-scented rack of lamb, and Amish chicken breast with heirloom corn polenta. A chef's tasting menu and a lively bar scene add weight to an already strong enterprise.
Ristorante Bergamo
Serves:
Dinner
A pale, shining environment only serves to highlight the exceptional northern Italian cuisine served at Bergamo's. Always prepared with the freshest ingredients, this is some of the best Italian in the Upstate. Pastas, steaks and seafood are satisfying and robust. Salads and antipasti showcase a medley of flavors, and the simple desserts. (10 best)
Sasafrass Southern Bistro
Serves:
Dinner
Comfortable and upscale, the restaurant specializes in gourmet Southern fare, especially that tinged with Low Country accents. Start with a basket of sweet potato fries or a napoleon of fried green tomatoes and pimiento cheese before giving yourself over to blackened sea scallops, shrimp and grits, crab cakes, pecan-crusted rainbow trout, or even fried chicken livers. More standard options include steaks, tuna, grilled salmon, and pork loin. Outdoor dining and a great bar scene. (10 best)

This Main Street staple is one of Greenville's favorites. The new-south cuisine includes such tempting entrees as New Orleans BBQ shrimp and grits, grilled smoked pork loin, and crab cake remoulade.
