Must See:
Gaze up at the world's tallest tower in the Burj Dubai complex, 3km from Holiday Inn Express Dubai-Jumeirah. The complex is also home to Dubai Mall which houses an extensive Aquarium. Peer through the giant viewing panes to see the sharks at feeding time.
Must Do:
Make a splash at the fun-filled Wild Wadi Waterpark. This outdoor oasis has a heated wave pool, gravity-defying uphill slides, flowing river rides, and huge wave machines for bodysurfing. Try the 33-metre-high Jumeirah Sceirah water slide if you dare.
What's New:
The island resort of Palm Jumeirah now has a monorail link to the mainland. Hop on the train to pay a visit to the Palm's luxurious restaurants and elegant boutiques. Or simply while away an afternoon on one of its many golden beaches.
Don't Go Home Without:
Visiting Jumeirah Mosque, a superb example of modern Islamic architecture in Dubai. It's one of very few mosques in the United Arab Emirates open to non-Muslims, and the interactive tours offer fascinating insights into Emirati life and traditions.
Tips:
Dubai's weekend falls on Friday and Saturday. The larger shopping malls open at 10am on weekends and some of the smaller shops may open on Friday afternoons. Ask helpful staff at Holiday Inn Express Dubai-Jumeirah if in doubt.
