InterContinental Hotels Group Community Affairs Award

Nearly every day, somewhere in the InterContinental Hotels Group network of properties in the Americas and around the world, hotel employees, management and owners are involved in activities designed to make their communities—and the world—a better place to live.

IHG has created a special Community Affairs award, presented each year at the company’s annual Investors’ Conference, to honor the hotel whose efforts stand out above the rest.

2005 Winner: Holiday Inn Concord

In 2005, the Community Affairs Award went to the Holiday Inn Concord, New Hampshire, where hardly a week goes by that staff members are not involved in an effort to support the local community. Activities run the gamut, from organizing a “Swim for Tots” event in the hotel’s pool to benefit the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program to fielding a fund-raising team for the Making Strides for Breast Cancer 5K walk to donating unused newspapers to line cages at the local SPCA animal shelter.
