| Endowing the Future
InterContinental Hotels Group views corporate support for education as an endowment of the future of both the company and the hospitality industry. Education-related programs, therefore, comprise an important part of our giving agenda.

IHG is pleased to be a major supporter of the Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management at the University of Memphis. Our endowment has created a scholarship fund for women and minority students and established an InterContinental Hotels Group Chair of Excellence for the Wilson School. The gift also allows us to honor the memory of Holiday Inn founder and industry pioneer Kemmons Wilson, who opened the first Holiday Inn hotel in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1952. | | | | United Negro College Fund
Since 1992, IHG has supported the United Negro College Fund through donations and scholarships. The UNCF is one of the oldest and most successful African American education assistance programs in the United States.
| | | | | | | American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF)
InterContinental Hotels Group is a major sponsor of the AH&LEF’s New Century Fund campaign, a multi-year, $8 million dollar initiative to help meet the growing needs of the lodging industry by encouraging students to pursue careers in hospitality.

| | InterContinental Hotels Group Scholarship Program
Each year IHG awards a full-tuition scholarship to up to 10 children or wards of full-time, U.S.-based employees. The annual scholarships are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned. Selection is based on past academic performance, leadership, participation in extracurricular school activities, community service involvement, work experience and career and educational aspirations. Since the inception of the program in 1998, IHG scholarships have helped 35 sons and daughters of employees further their education.
